Who is Michael Jordan's idol?

Michael Jordan's father believed that his brother Larry Jordan was more talented in basketball. Jordan himself admired his brother. This is why he chose to wear the number 23 jersey, as his brother Larry always wore number 45.

During his first comeback, Jordan wore his brother's number 45 because NBA rules prohibited him from wearing number 23. However, Larry Jordan did not have the same growth spurt as Michael and ended up becoming a soldier instead of pursuing basketball.

Besides his brother, Jordan also admired Dr. J Julius Erving, who revolutionized the NBA with his athletic style. Jordan was inspired by Dr. J and even wore Converse sneakers in college because of him. The influence of both Larry Jordan and Dr. J played a crucial role in shaping Michael Jordan's career.
